Menopause Facts Website Launch

Menopause and postmenopausal health has never been as emphasized as it has been in the recent past. As the life expectancy for both men and women are increasing, it is now known that half of our women would spend a good third of their lives in the menopause.

Women have been fearful to talk about menopause as it has always been associated with growing old. This whole focus has now changed to “healthy aging” in order to allow women (and men) be productive both mentally and physically as they get on in years. The “mature” woman has so much more to contribute to society.

The Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia (OGSM) have made it their priority to help the “maturing” women. This public directed menopause web page has been specially designed to help the Malaysian woman look after her health during the perimenopause and post-menopausal period. This local based web page is ideal for the Malaysian woman to research into her symptoms, health risks and treatment modalities.

October is always the Menopause Month. World Menopause Day is always on October 18th of every year. In conjunction with the Menopause month and World Menopause Day, OGSM will launch this web page on October 26th 2017.
